Activities

Each chapter we learned new vocabulary words and made sentences with them. This helped me memorize the new words.

After watching a short video at the beginning of each chapter we would answer questions about the topics which helped us understand the themes better.

We had in-class discussions and debates about certain topics like personality traits and quality television and these are the answers to some of the questions I prepared beforehand to discuss in class. This helped my speaking and comprehension skills improve.

We wrote longer paragraphs about specific topics like multinational corporations, and this greatly improved my writing skills.
Quizzes were given at the end of each chapter, and this helped me review the vocabulary words, grammar elements, and themes of each chapter to make sure I fully understood it all.
At the start of each chapter we watched a short video from different Latin American countries to help us with our comprehension and vocabulary.
An example of the questions we had to answer during our in-class debates. It was really interesting to hear the different opinions my classmates had about certain topics.
We read poems by famous authors like Pablo Neruda like this one about a dead millionaire.
This poem was particularly interesting to read and even though I didn’t understand all the vocabulary it was good for my comprehension skills.
We read articles like this discussing the existence of true love and this greatly improved my reading and comprehension skills and was also very interesting to read.
I actually had to present this little comic strip. I used the pictures and created a story and told it in front of the class. I was nervous but it helped me with my speaking and presenting skills.

For my final exam, I had to give a 10-20 minute presentation on a Latin American movie. Attached is a PowerPoint presentation of my final.
