Club Experience
Cyber Security Student Association – Member | CS2A is a cybersecurity club that involves all things cyber whether that be collaborations on projects, working on programming and certifications, or discussing new news about cyber events. Due to being tied to my major, CS2A has been critical in helping me learn about events like CyberOps, internship opportunities, and meeting professionals in the field.
Brother2Brother – Member | B2B is a club that discusses the struggles of black men and empowers a new form of black masculinity. It provides me with a safe place to engage with peers who come from the same marginalized community.
National Society of Collegiate Scholars – Member | NSCS is an honor society that is dedicated to supporting high-achievement students. It’s been a beneficial experience to provide scholarship opportunities to lessen the burden of university costs.
Society of Physics Students – Member | SPS is a physics club that focuses on getting involved with the community at and around ODU. This includes events like Mars Fest, the Air Show, Pumpkin Drop, and opportunities with NASA which allow for big projects and more collaboration. The club is welcoming for non-Physics majors, offers scholarship opportunities, and has given me many long-lasting experiences with its many entertaining events.
The SUMMIT – Member | The SUMMIT provides opportunities to shape marginalized groups into better leaders through mentoring, communal events, and tutoring. It gives me the option of not only learning about the struggles of my peers but also allows me to mentor and teach them about the different ways they can improve themselves. Additionally, I am currently part of the e-board as the Academic Head.
