Cybersecurity Internship
This course requires an initial or ongoing cybersecurity/IT internship that the student obtains, as assignments are rooted in their concurrent internship experience.  Course assignments will define the employment relationship, articulate learning outcomes, and offer opportunities for reflection to enhance the student’s academic, career, and professional readiness.
Students must volunteer for 50 hours per course credit and complete course assignments.
Course Material
This is a full interview I conducted with ODU IT Specialist Galen Cole. Mr. Cole Conducted my training and continued to supervise me throughout my work at the help desk. Additionally, Mr. Cole provided insightful words about his time in the IT industry as well as what the future may hold.
This short reflection paper covered my first 50 hours of my internship. I primarily discussed orientation and training as well as my first impression of the workplace.
This short reflection paper covered my first 100 hours of my internship. I primarily discussed my first shifts working the desk and phones along with the initial challenges I faced during my first shifts out of training.
This paper was completed after working 150 hours at the ODU IT Help Desk. This essay is a reflection of my entire internship and touches on my goals, challenges, and outcomes from my time at the help desk.
