Critical Thinking

During the course of my Cybersecurity program at Old Dominion University, I encountered a multitude of assignments that served as challenging crucibles for my critical thinking skills. These tasks not only tested my theoretical knowledge but also demanded practical problem-solving abilities, preparing me for the multifaceted challenges that the cybersecurity landscape presents.

Information Technology Field Scenario: Given a specific scenario, set up the cable infrastructure for a school including the placement of the telecom closets, how much cable will be needed, any other equipment necessary, and estimate the total cost.

In the following case analysis, I worked with a restricted dataset to formulate an estimate for implementing the school’s network infrastructure. My objective encompassed comprehensive equipment provisioning, strategic positioning suggestions for telecom closets, and cost approximations for materials—factoring in potential bulk discounts through research. The associated calculations are delineated, and the layout of the school is visually presented in an accompanying diagram.

Digital Forensic Maintenance and Accreditation Plan: Case Scenario – You have been hired to create and run a brand new digital forensics lab for a mid-sized police department. Your assignment is to come up with a plan for the lab for the next 3 years.

The assignment below is the plan I came up with after hours of research and work.

Password Cracking Extra Credit Scenario: In this assignment, I was tasked to crack a password and edit a file. The steps I used to do this assignment are detailed.
