I have grown and learned so much my first semester in college. I have learned how to study in the right way and not procrastinate. College has proven to me that once you get an assignment it is better to just get it done. My expectations were that I would pass with all A’s and I would never get lower than a C on an assignment. I think the semester did not meet my expectations, it was a rough first semester. Something I wish I knew 14 weeks ago was how hard college really is. It is not like high school at all, it is more complex thinking and harder on a person’s mental stability.
I have spent 30 more hours a week studying compared to then when it was only about 10 hours. My study habits have changed by me using flash cards compared to when I began when I used just memorization. A resource I have learned about that helped me this semester was the chemistry building. Some study techniques I will be using next semester is the flash card method, this worked really well for me.
These courses tied together because they all had underlying tones of health. This course helped me understand and realize how much health can impact everything. In history people get sick and die, in sociology people collect in groups. This proves how everything can tie together and correlate. The most important event I attended to me was the paint night with an art therapist instructor. I learned how much art can relax a person and demonstrate it can help with mental health.
