My name is Valeria Holguin Catachunga Amaya Arias Castillo. I was born in Miami, Florida but my family currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia. However, I consider myself Colombian since that is where my family is from and I lived there for most of my life.

I chose to attend ODU because it offered me quality education for an obtainable price. I received a scholarship that covered most of my tuition cost which helped fund my attendance at ODU. I also fell in love with the diversity of the campus and the campus layout.

My hobbies are reading, writing, watching Netflix, yoga, pilates, and synchronized swimming. In high school I was a part of a synchronized swimming team for over 6 years. Now I participate in yoga classes and do pilates at home. When I am free I enjoy to curl up with a good romance book and read for a few hours.

Other fun things I do is learning how to cook. I am not the best cook but I am learning. I watch many recipe videos and try and follow to the best of my ability. I am not the best cook but I am a fast learner which has helped me slowly improve my skills overtime.
