I observed the science and math teacher for the 6th grade because Mrs. Penn said they were the best at redirecting students and managing behavior issues. These to me also seemed like the some of the most challenging core subjects. I know for myself it was always hard to sit in a math class. I wanted to observe how this teacher could keep it interesting with a challenging 6th grade. The major takeaway for me was how the teachers tried to maintain a positive attitude and redirect students in a positive manner. I had seen the students being yelled at by multiple teachers and these two teachers attempted with great reserve and strength to maintain a calm voice and move throughout the room to engage all students. This is something I can surely use in the health class.
