There are three types of deviance that can affect the workplace and they are the following: cyberbullying, cyberloafing, and cybercrime. Any of these misbehaviors are important for businesses to understand and is also crucial as well. For the first misbehavior of workplace deviance, which is known as Cyberbullying, it is defined as a way of bullying through electronic stuff. There are many consequences that could happen to businesses regarding cyberbullying; the impacts can range from people losings interest in business, to losing money, to hurting the owner’s feelings. One way of protecting from Cyberbullying is to make sure there are positive comments about how good the business is and block any bad comments. The next type of deviance that could impact workplace is cyberloafing. Cyberloafing occurs when an employee may spend its time at work on the internet causing stress on a business. It can occurs when an employee has one of the following: stress, Loneliness and workplace ostracism, boredom, and desire to find resources that make work and life better, just to name a few. One way to prevent cyberloafing from happening is to add cyberloafing prohibition on HR policies. The third and final example of a workplace deviance is cybercrime. Cybercrime is defined as a crime involving a computerized network. Some of the many examples of cybercrime includes Phishing, Social engineering and Ransomware.
