I think that the media influence our understanding of cybersecurity by using television. They tend to sometimes exaggerate by showing 3D versions of what the movies call encrypted files. Some of the terminology that they use is not 100 percent accurate but they do have some accurate terms. As for the Hexadecimal, they were somewhat correct except that in the real world hackers use 16 characters which us 0-9 and A_F. Movies tend to make the world of cybersecurity a scary thing and also make it difficult to follow. It’s almost showing that the hacking world is for smart people who like math and number, especially coding. They also tend to exaggerate how fast hackers can hack into a system when in reality it takes quite a while.
