My experience in the cybersecurity program has given me a strong foundation in both computer science and information technology. Through CSC169 – Introduction to Computer Science, I learned the fundamentals of computing, algorithms, and problem-solving, which helped me understand how technology operates at its core. In CSC170 – Computer Programming I, I developed programming skills and gained hands-on experience in writing and testing code, which sharpened my ability to think logically and approach cybersecurity challenges through a technical lens. Finally, ITE111 – IT Principles introduced me to the broader concepts of information technology, including hardware, software, networking, and system management, all of which are essential for building secure environments.
Together, these courses not only improved my technical knowledge but also strengthened my ability to connect programming, IT infrastructure, and security concepts. They laid the groundwork for me to continue growing as a cybersecurity student and prepared me to analyze problems, design solutions, and apply technology in ways that support both security and innovation.
