Social Psychology

To get a good idea of what this course entails, please read the Course Map.

This is an example of how the ePortfolio template for Social Psychology (PSYC 304) should appear once it is activated:

About Me

The first point of interaction with the ePortfolio is the About Me page, which is where students describe their professional identity. Students are prompted to discuss their academic/career goals, their major, the reasons for taking the course, and their specific interests in psychology. The self-introduction is accompanied by a professional self-image. This presentation of one’s professional digital identity provides an opportunity to make a good impression on faculty, peers, graduate selection committees, and/or prospective employers. Assignment Takeaway

The Assignment Takeaway is a short synopsis of the two-page assignment based on content associated with readings from the textbook or other provided materials. This gives students another touchpoint with the material and provides an opportunity to reflect on and apply what was learned from the assignment. Students choose four of five assignments and will write an Assignment Takeaway for each assignment. Each Assignment Takeaway requires an accompanying representative visual image. Selecting this image provides another opportunity for reflection and enhances the multimodality of the ePortfolio. Students may choose to hyperlink their assignment to the image and/or create an audio clip or video to personalize their site and give their audience a better sense of who they are. Weekly Blogs

Students will write ten Weekly Blogs throughout the semester based on prompts relevant to course content. Each Weekly Blog requires an accompanying representative visual image. Click here to visit your ePortfolio Assistant’s Weekly Blog page to see an example of the final product and to get to know Callee better.

Top Artifacts

For each module associated with corresponding chapters from the textbook, students will interact with an Item to Archive. There is a total of 12 Items to Archive. For the Top Artifacts page, students choose their top five favorites of all of the Items to Archive to display. Click here to view an example of how Callee set this page up in her Social Psychology ePortfolio.
