Hi, I’m Joan! I am currently a senior at Old Dominion University, a mom of 3, a wife, a substitute teacher, and an aspiring elementary school teacher. I enjoy crafting, cruising with my family, and cheering on my kids from the sidelines of sports and activities they partake in. After staying at home for ten years, I found my calling through volunteering in schools and substitute teaching. My experiences have deepened my desire to help young learners grow in all aspects of their lives, including personally, emotionally, socially, and academically.
My goal is to create a firm but loving environment where all students feel welcomed, safe, encouraged, and excited to learn and grow. My strengths in creativity, communication, time management and organization will be the foundation in helping me bring joy and structure to my classroom’s learning environment.
