CYSE 270 is one of the foundational courses for any cybersecurity student at ODU, as such, I believe it to be one of the most impactful courses I took in my tenure. The basic premise of the course is to give the student the tools necessary to utilize Linux and afterwards how to use Linux to perform basic cybersecurity tasks such as subnetting.

This artifact is the lab report for the Group and User Management lab. The basic idea of this lab is to create and manage user acounts within the linux ecosystem. The screenshots show the commands I used to complete the tasks asked in the lab assignment document.

Task A was to create a new user account named ‘xxxxx’, display the user’s login information, and add them to the sudo (administrator) group. Task B is to create a new group and add ‘xxxxx’ to it. These tasks are the basic building blocks of cybersecurity management, creating user accounts and giving them the permissions they need to do their jobs.
