When deciding what type of initiative my PenPal Professional and I could work on, I came up with the idea to bring a passion we both share to the casual sports fan. For many sport fans, they may believe that to get involved in sport analytics you need to have some type of computer science or IT background. What I learned from working with my PenPal professional, Dr. Mamo, is that anyone can get involved with Data Analytics. When we met to discuss the initiative that I was thinking about, he was excited to help and work on an initiative that would get more people involved in data analytics. Through our discussion, we were able to come up with a few steps to get the casual fan started with their data analytics journey.
