Cyber Roles and Responsibilities

Cybersecurity has many roles within. Those roles each come with specific responsibilities. An important role within the cybersecurity team is the Chief Information Officer (CIO). The Chief Information Officer is a person apart of an organization that is responsible for designating a senior agent information security officer. In addition, they are responsible for developing and maintaining security policies, procedures and controlling techniques. They also are responsible for assisting senior organizational security with their responsibilities, amongst many other duties. The CIO responsibility is to ensure that systems are protected by an approved security plan that is authorized. They make sure that the organization-wide information security system is being implemented effectively. They coordinate with other senior officials in cybersecurity and report annually on their overview of the overall effectives of the organization’s information security system. They also track the progress of remedial actions. The CIO plays a crucial role in cybersecurity and is vital to have. Their role on the team is needed in addition to the other roles. The CIO also overlooks personnel to make sure they are adequately trained in information security. They make corrections as needed to make sure that the information security program is protected. The CIO must be fully aware of the rules and regulations and able to communicate effectively when are issue arises. In conclusion, the CIO is much needed any organization. Their role is crucial and provides opportunity for improvement within cybersecurity by them focusing on this and making sure things relating to information security are going smoothly.
