Communication is key in the field of cybersecurity. My job in this field will not only require me to deal with systems, but to be able to explain these risks and possible solutions to people who may not know as much as me. Being able to clearly explain why a vulnerability matters and what needs to be done to solve it will be a big skill I need in order to be successful in this field. Strong communication will also help during incident response where clear updates will make a significant difference when trying to stop or mitigate an attack or incident.

Basic Security Controls

This artifact is my analysis on basic security controls. I transformed this document into multiple knowledge-based documents for employees to read up on for a better understanding of basic security controls. It demonstrated my ability to communicate with employees that are less familiar in my expertise using very clear language so that everybody is able to understand it.

Milestone Project

This artifact is my milestone project that I created in my CYSE250 milestone project using python. We were required to use loops, functions, lists, socket programming, files, encryption, decryption, and authentication in our project. Communication is also about being able to communicate with your team and people that actually do specialize in the same thing as you. This demonstrates my ability to do so, as I worked with another person, scheduled meetings with them, and communicated effectively with them to complete this task getting a good grade on this project.

Info Literacy Group Project

This artifact is another group project that I did back as a freshman. The course was CS120G: Intro to Info Literacy and Research. It demonstrates another instance of my ability to effectively work with like minded people on a project. We all worked on an issue that we didn’t have much knowledge on and were able to collaborate and educate ourselves on the topic in order to get a good grade on the project. It shows that I am able to be open minded to working with people on issues I don’t specialize in and that I have great teamwork skills. This could be very useful in my field and could be what employers are looking for in a worker.
