Based off the article by Andriy Slynchuk, out of the 11 violations, there are 5 that are a lot more serious. Many people may not even know they are committing these crimes. It is important to be conscious of your internet usage.
‘Sharing Passwords, Addresses, or Photos or Others’ can lead to people having access to accounts that they shouldn’t. Also sharing personal information can lead someone to pretending to be them when trying to answer security questions. ‘Bullying and Trolling’ is very dangerous to do online. It can lead to the victim suffering from mental health issues, or even suicide. Just because its through a screen, it can have the same affect as saying it face-to-face. ‘Faking Your Identity Online’ is another way to use the internet in a negative way. No matter what, faking your identity can lead to mistrust, scams, or identity theft. ‘Collecting Information About Children’ can lead to a lot of dangers. There is no reason to collect information about minors, there is usually a malicious intent behind it. Parents posting about children can cause predators to track and gain more information about them and could lead to criminal charges. ‘Illegal Searches on the Internet’ is also very dangerous. Any previous searches are logged and can be tracked if under investigation of a crime.
