Description: This course introduces the basic operations in major Linux distros for cybersecurity using both graphical interface and command-line interface. Students will learn about the basic installation and configuration, file systems management, shell scripts, and user authentication in Linux systems.

Reflection: This course strengthened my practical cybersecurity skills by giving me hands-on experience with major Linux distributions through both the graphical interface and command-line interface. Learning how to install and configure Linux systems, manage file systems, and control user authentication helped me understand how operating systems function from a security perspective. Writing and analyzing basic shell scripts also improved my ability to automate tasks and navigate systems efficiently. Overall, the course increased my confidence working in Linux environments, which are essential in cybersecurity operations, system administration, and security analysis.
