About Me

Hi friend! I’m Kiley Miller, and I’d like to welcome you to my e-Portfolio for Old Dominion University’s School Librarian Program. This e-Portfolio and its contents (documents and links) are a requirement for graduation from the Masters in Library and Information Science program.

My husband and I have been married for six years, and together have made our home in Hampton Roads. We have a son who is four, a daughter who is two, and a rescue dog who is six. Though my work experience has been varied, without exception teaching has been my passion. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching formally at many levels: preschool, kindergarten, and English as a Second Language (ESL) to adult learners. My commitment to education combined with my love of reading and library spaces, made it natural for me to be drawn to the field of school librarianship.

In libraries individuals are given space and time to question, explore, and find answers. It is my hope that as a school librarian I will be able to help open up the world of reading, to allow children to dream and become inspired themselves.

Thanks for taking time out of your day to stop by!
