Exploring Culture

We learned about some of the cultural differences between America and Spanish speaking countries. There aare even some differences between all of the Spanish speaking countries. Some of the culteral differences we discused were the differences in the styles of clothing they wear, the stories they tell, and their different histories.

Engaging in Communities

We have used a lot of class time to practive our spanish with one another. I have been able to take some of that classroom experiance and I used it to talk to people I knew from spanosh speaking countries. I even got tutoring from one of them and we practiced my spelling through texting.

Interpersonal Communication

We spoke with Native Spanish speakers during the semester through a program called talk abroad. I spoke with the same person both times and his name was Allan and he is from Nicaragua. The first one we talked about cloths and ecotourism and we talked about art and history in the second one.

Presentational Speaking

This semester, we only did 1 presentational speaking assignment and that was for our Ecotourism project. That assignment required us to make a presentation to talk about some a place where ecotourism is present.

Presentational Writting

We have also had a few assignments where we needed to write to show our progression in the language. We ended up writing a recommendation letter to someone about what cloths we recommend to them, we got to choose between writting a short story about a girl named fineta or in a point in history, and we finished up by writting a script for a conversation where there is misscommunication.

Interpretive Listening

Through our assignments, we had many that required us listen to an audio and answer questions based on it. Most if not all of the listening activities were in focusing on the grammer side of the language.

Interpretive Reading

Some of our assignments also required us to read a paragraph or story and we needed to pick things out from the writtings. The example provided is one where we needed to pick out 13 of the past participals in the writting.
