This assignment was a research paper on a Hispanic country of our choosing. There were many different things we had to report on, namely the workings of the government, cultures, demographics, and the economic/business climate. I wrote about Cuba, and I’m glad I did because this paper allowed me to break many misconceptions I had about the country. Americans are led to believe that Cuba is a mini-USSR only 90 miles south of us, but in reality Cuba is a country full of rich culture that is slowly but surely transitioning away from its controversial unitary system and allowing a more free market. In the video, my fictional company is involved with the manufacturing of medical equipment, so I decided to discuss Cuba’s very prominent pharmaceutical industry.
