Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs relates I think to everyone’s life in some way shape or form. The best piece of technology I could use is my vehicle as I drive a Tesla. Starting from the bottom up my physiological needs of the car is to have something to travel in and get me around. Then as far as safety needs it offers automatic braking, lane assistance and has blind spot cameras. All reasons I purchased the vehicle because it makes driving less stressful for myself. Then next belongingness and love needs it fulfills is allowing me to take my girlfriend to dinner and or lunch. It allows me to help friends move or even go pick up a friend from a late not out of drinking. Getting them home and keeping them out of harms way brings me joy. It also allows me to drive down to ODU and go catch a football game with my sister. While I do ODU online and she’s on campus we can still spend time together. The self esteem it fulfills is that I have a pretty cool car. It is something I can call mine and pay for all by myself. I worked my butt off to obtain it, so I take time to look at it and enjoy it after those fresh Sunday washes. Lastly, the self-actualization of having my car (Tesla) is pretty much the same as the self esteem notions. I met my goal of getting the Tesla so everyday I soak it in because it was a long time coming.
