Self Evaluation __________________________________________________________
When I think back to all of the work I have done as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant it is clear where my strengths and weaknesses lie.

Strengths: One of my most valuable strengths, when reflecting, is my initiative. I would always try to go above and beyond to produce a valuable interaction or work product. I created the evaluation scaled used by the other class TA’s and initiated the first class study session. In addition to this, organization was one of my strongest suits. I would prepare by reading over the same material as the students would, take extensive notes incase a question arose, showed up early and stayed late incase my services were needed. Lastly, I was able to exhibit a personable demeanor that allowed for students from my group, and other groups, to be comfortable talking with me whether it was class discussions, possible questions, or concerns of a more personal nature.
Weaknesses: I believe that my weakness came in the form of kindness. I have a big heart that can sometimes make an appearance too often. There were a handful of cases that I felt myself being too lenient with my students and trying to lead them without giving them the chance to lead themselves. I am able to recognize this and say that a portion of my leniency can be attributed to the fact that – at times – most of the students were close to my age, so, in some cases, acting as an authority figure seemed to be demeaning in a sense. This is definitely a trait that I fully intend to work on. I believe that progress will be made by finding ways to present or disseminate information in ways that can be seen as authoritative, fair, and respectable for the audience that is present. In time, as I am exposed to more experiences, this self conscious attitude will change.
Although I had this experience during my last semester of my Undergraduate degree, if given the chance I would love to be an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant again. This experience has been one that I will treasure always. It was through this experience that I have seen more of a growth in myself as a person; everyday I was learning more about myself and how I wanted to conduct my life in order to prepare for my future. I am satisfied with the accomplishments that I have made over the course of this Spring semester and can attribute them to the increase in my professional growth as well. I only hope that an opportunity such as this one will be offered in graduate school.
