Empiricism means that social scientists can only study behavior which is real to the senses. When it comes to Cybersecurity, this would be a way to make the security systems stronger because there would be actual research done and there would be data to base off of. Companies can use empirical data to go through and see what tools are working effectively with preventing attacks. You can have different antivirus software or even firewalls, but you can’t just assume that they are always effective; you need data and evidence to prove it. Relying on opinions or hunches is not effective, because there is no
evidence to prove that something works.
