While creating the three memes I was supposed to incorporate how the mindsets of
everyday users are flawed. For the first meme there is a person taking a picture of another
person in the snow; both people are blissfully unaware that there is a person behind them
who can see everything. That includes seeing any passwords or codes that the person
holding the phone takes. People may think that their actions are private but in reality others
could be watching and there needs to be security solutions in place to prevent information
from easily being stolen, like privacy screens or face IDs so passwords aren’t visible to
people.
The second meme shows a man typing on a computer and this captures a very common
flaw. Overconfidence and ignoring higher security practices because they assume that
Their environments are low risk. Human-centered cybersecurity shows that users need
systems that enforce security behaviors and not just the user’s memory.
The third meme shows a person wearing a mask holding out a Beng Beng chocolate bar.
This shows that humans tend to trust things that seem too good to be true, like free
giveaways without considering that there are risks. Human-centered cybersecurity shows
how important it is to be aware and skeptical about unsolicited offers.
In conclusion, these memes show human-centered cybersecurity while showing a bit of
humor. Each meme shows that technology isn’t the only thing that can secure systems
people have to as well.
