This is a silly little meme I cooked up for the Find a Meme! assignment. The funny frog’s uncomfortable face is just meant to emphasize the overwhelming feeling I get when I really take a step back and look at the sheer amount of different systems that are simulataneously functioning in our bodies. From organs, to tissues, to cells there is already an insane amount of complexity at play, but it’s when you start to understand the intricacies of each and every tiny little cell and cell system that you start to get that weird feeling in your stomach. A sort of “What the hell is going on?” feeling that’s difficult to describe. That is, except for in this meme, in which the pepe’s face does a pretty good job at conveying the emotion in my opinion.

My End-Of-Term Reflection

If I had to summarize my thoughts on my experience with Cell Biology in three words, I would say challenging yet gratifying. As of writing this, I have yet to take the final two exams, so it remains to be seen where my standing on the course will be after those, but I doubt my feelings will change too much. Before the course, I don’t think I was aware of what an undertaking trying to fully understand the complexity of cells was going to be. The sheer intricacy of the cellular systems in our body really is amazing. And even though in my particular career I won’t be directly involved in the cellular biology on a daily basis, I know this knowledge is valuable in understanding the way our bodies function and fundamental knowledge for anyone in the medical field.

As an aspiring physical therapist, I know that this course has given me a valuable understanding of cellular processes and how they relate to the systems within the body and a better understanding of disease and injury, which will help me better diagnose and combat underlying issues that create pain in people. I am now more prepared to become a legitmate medical professional and communicate with people in my field. I am nothing but appreciative of this course and take pride in my performance and the knowledge I have obtained.
