Diversity is a strength in any field because it allows a wide spectrum of multifaceted perspectives that can be employed to tackle any problem. This typically leads to more creative solutions and less chance of tunneling on an outcome, missing many key details and points along the way. Dr. Christine Izuakor did an excellent job explaining this; particularly the highlighting of, because cybersecurity as a field is so relatively new, it is ripe with opportunities to become a field with a diverse workforce. Also, due it being a new and exciting field, it is hoped that it will draw in more groups that previously might have eschewed STEM fields and make them more interested in considering a career in cybersecurity.
