There are many reasons I am interested in pursuing this field, but by far the two most dominant reasons are the job security/demand the ability to learn as I go. There is a substantial chasm that needs filled between open jobs and needed applicants, and this is definitely a major boon for all students looking to get started in the industry. For me personally, I am coming from the medical field, another field that will always be in demand. This job security and opportunity is important to me for making the switch.

The ability to learn and increase my education is also a huge plus for me. I am an avid reader, and reading on this particular subject has left me with no shortage of material to read over. A lifetime would not be enough. In addition, this field is in its infancy, and we are not quite sure where it will be in even twenty years. By that time I will be in a senior position in the field, and my responsibilities could be much different than what I could ever expect. Because of this, continuing my education and being highly flexible and adaptable remains more important than ever.
