Infographics

For my infographic, I put together a few lyrics from a funny rap song by artist Lil Dicky called $ave Dat Money. The song is about all of the ways that he is frugal and different things he does to save money. In my infographic, I chose some of the more *appropriate* lyrics and found the average cost of each item to then calculate how much money Lil Dicky saved in his song. This infographic is purely for comedic purposes.

In my classroom or in the library, I would teach students to use infographics to present a large amount of information, but not wanting to overwhelm the listener/reader. Simplicity is key in infographics- not too many words, colors, images, etc. Reynolds mentions to practice restraint when presenting information to readers, “… so we should be careful not to make it more difficult for them by adding superfluous elements that do more harm than good”. (Reynolds, 2014)

The hardest aspect of creating an infographic, for me, was deciding the topic to write about. I love digital art, so after deciding on the topic, I had a ball with this one!

Having the hardest time deciding on a topic, too. I LOVE this! Such fun!

This is a great idea to help students identify the important part or main idea of a text. Many of my students struggle to identify the main idea, so this would be a fun activity to introduce that skill.

Your infographic looks so professional! Great job! I love that you made one for comedic purposes! This is so creative , and yet offers a fun approach to actually thinking about ways people spend money without thinking.
