A Beautiful Butterfly using Big Huge Labs

I’ve used Big Huge Labs before, but I thought this Bead Art feature was really neat. Perler beads were a big part of our life last year, during Quarantine. All I had to do was upload my photograph and it turned it into bead art. I think my students would love taking pictures and playing around with the different features in Big Huge Labs. The bead art just made me happy. It is such a simple tool, but I think our student could feel really proud of their work. We could even work with the art teacher to change a piece of their artwork into something else and write about it.

I have seen that bead art in person and it looks just like that. That is a very time consuming hobby and so intricate. An art teacher could use this to have students learn about different art techniques and styles. Maybe a student would be inspired to turn their photo into a bead project after this! Your picture would be a beautiful bead art project!!

I should get my kids to create it with beads this summer. I love Perler beads because they have to use their brains and there are no screens involved. I would love to see my students bring their photographs to life with this tool.

Wow, I didn’t see that option in Big Huge Labs when I looked through it. That’s such a creative filter. I can see how that would connect well with students’ interest and culture. Were there any other filters in this site that you liked?

Wow, I didn’t see that option when I browsed through Big Huge Labs. That’s such a creative filter; did you see any others you liked and plan to use at some point? I can see how it would appeal to student interest and culture.

I loved the trading cards, the cube and the pop art poster too! I think even 5th graders in June would like playing around with these different tools! Did you have a favorite on there?
