About Me

Prior to graduate school, I obtained my bachelor’s in Graphic Design with a minor in Art History here at ODU. Currently, my body resides in Virginia Beach, but my heart and soul reside in Norfolk. I am consistently trying to learn more, unlearn old habits, and do better. I joined the MLIS program because I believe librarianship is a tool to share the privilege of knowledge, which leads to liberation, and I want to make that more accessible.

My formative years were based in the Hampton Roads punk scene, which influenced my interest in archives and preservation with a collection of memorabilia from local shows and the people involved. Post-graduation, I would love to work in either special collections, archives, or museums. I want to document and preserve assets of communities that are historically denied spaces in libraries and galleries, utilizing librarianship to dismantle white supremacy within all library-adjacent spaces, promoting equitable access for discussion, education, representation, and collaboration.
