About Me

Hello!  My name is Katherine Sharnoff.  I am a candidate for the Masters of Library and Information Studies at Old Dominion University.  At present, I am focusing on a school library endorsement but am just as interested in working in a public or academic library. I am passionate about using technology for learning and am particularly interested in technical services and user access.

Before attending Wittenberg University, I lived in São Paulo, Brazil for a year as a Rotary Exchange Student. My Bachelor’s degree is in French and Russian Area Studies and I was an intern at the International Herald Tribune through Boston University’s Paris Internship Program.  I hold a Master’s degree from The American University in French Studies with a concentration in second language methodology and educational technology.   In addition to Portuguese and French, I have studied two years of college German. I am currently a French teacher with Henrico County Public Schools where I employ a variety of technology resources for teaching and learning.

I invite you to look through my portfolio and blog posts which reflect a variety of activities throughout my MLIS coursework.
