About Me

Hello, my name is Marina Merrick.  I am embarking on my 3rd career.  Initially I was an outdoor educator, teaching environmental science and leading outdoor backpacking and canoeing adventures. A fond memory of that time is reading to the teens as they lay in tents in the woods.  I then was a massage therapist for 20 years, as my body and hands became tired, I looked forward to what was next.  I landed in a High School Library.  I am loving every minute of my time interacting with the students. To further understand my role as a school librarian, I jumped into the Masters of Library and Information Studies at Old Dominion University.  This site is a work in progress, a place for assignments, musings and learning.
