I use Audacity in the classroom, and it’s become my “go-to” only because I’m familiar with it, and it is easy to convert. However, playing with some of these other free resources revealed much more novice-friendly programs that I think are easier when the students are responsible for creating audio content. ODU’s Word Press is tough, though! I could not upload any of the files (I made two previous recordings in Online Voice Recorder and another in Google Slides). The message I got was that it could not upload due to “security.” Hence, the link above:(
It is so frustrating, isn’t it? This is all new to me so I just thought I am doing something wrong! I even had my husband try and figure it out because he is very tech-savvy but he couldn’t figure it out either!
I had the same issue with the security message no matter which site I used. My experience with Audacity was using it to record myself doing read aloud for SOL’s. That required very little finesse since we were not editing anything. I am not sure I would use it for anything else.
