When I first got into sports all I cared about was that one play. The play that makes or changes the game, I didn’t have the attention span to watch an entire game. Growing up I lived in a house of bandwagons they didn’t have a team so they would just root for whoever was winning, which honestly really did annoy me because I believe in team loyalty. With that being said a good way to watch sports and just watch the important plays of a game is Red Zone. Why watch one game when you can watch them all? Once I gained team loyalty to my team I didn’t care about what was going on in the other games, I wanted to watch every single play that MY team was doing. Living half of my life in Virginia after being from California it really did come as a shock to me that the Chargers game wasn’t always on the tv, I would get annoyed because as a family we watch Red zone and I would have to wait just to see a play that the Chargers did I would get all excited just for it to switch to a touch down that the cowboys made. I still deal with this problem, I get all dressed up in my fandom gear just to not be able to watch the full game of my team on cable. Being a college student and already having to pay for streaming apps to watch the shows I like the last thing I want to pay for is cable because the only thing I watch on cable are games. I could pay for the NFL game pass, but that is another 10$ slapped onto everything I already pay for. If I had a magic wand to change the media I would change it in the way I could watch my team or any team I wanted for free. I feel as if fandoms for teams would grow immensely if they were more affordable for people my age.
