Call for Faculty Fellows @mpark (Fall 2025)

Makerspace Pedagogy & Assignment Design

We invite applications for a new Faculty Fellows Group on Makerspace Pedagogy, to be held during the Fall 2025 semester in mpark (BAL 2027). This interdisciplinary cohort will bring together faculty interested in exploring how makerspace tools and practices can enrich teaching, foster creativity, and support innovative student learning in the College of Arts and Letters. 

About the Fellows Group
Faculty Fellows will meet four times during Fall 2025 to:

  • Explore models of makerspace pedagogy and hands-on learning.
  • Share teaching strategies and assignment ideas across disciplines.
  • Collaboratively develop assignments and course activities that integrate makerspace tools.
  • Prepare course-ready assignment for Spring 2026 implementation 

Who Should Apply
This opportunity is open to all faculty—tenure-track, non-tenure-track, graduate teaching assistants, and adjunct—who are curious about incorporating makerspace practices into their teaching. No prior experience with makerspaces is required; we welcome both newcomers and experienced practitioners.

Commitment

  • Attend four 60-90-minute meetings during Fall 2025 (schedule determined with participants).
  • Develop at least one draft assignment or activity for use in a Spring 2026 course.
  • Share teaching insights and resources with the group.
