Maslow hierarchy of needs charts suggests that all humans have needs according to the chart. As we advance higher on the chart the more important our needs become. Lower levels needs are met like our physiological needs that keeps us alive like a diabetics insulin measurer. We also have another lower level; our safety needs, like a security system or Ring. Next on the hierarchy is belongingness and love needs. We have our phone applications, like FaceTime and Skype, this keeps us connected to our valued relationships. Our fourth ranking is esteem and needs; social media can play a role in our esteem if you fit societal beauty standards or it can make you feel horrible about yourself. On the top of the hierarchy of needs charts is Self-actualization. People use social media as a way to make content and make it their job. This can make people feel accomplished if they make lots of money and gain fame. That’s what I’m interested in, but my esteem from societal beauty standards draws me away.
