I went through those tutorials from the Old Dominion University ePortfolio office on YouTube. They talked a lot about layout and how to make things look more put together. It got me thinking about my own page.
For my Sport Journal on WordPress, I started by messing with the homepage. It was kind of cluttered before, so I tried reorganizing the categories to help people find stuff easier. Assignments got sorted in what I hope is a more professional setup. I am not totally sure if its perfect, but it feels better now.
The design part was next. I switched the theme and added this header image with sports stuff on it. Colors and fonts got tweaked to make everything cleaner, maybe a bit more modern looking. Visitors probably notice that right away, it seems.
Those examples in the tutorials showed what good portfolios look like, with small choices that change the whole feel. My page used to just be a bunch of assignments thrown together. Now its more like something I could show employers, I think.
The changes made navigation smoother and the visuals pop more. It feels professional overall. Learning about digital presence in sports media, that part stands out as important, even if I am still figuring it out.
