After reading this article, I have recognized the importance of social cybersecurity in this day and age. Social cybersecurity focuses more on human behavior, social, cultural, and political outcomes to understand cyber threats. Social cybersecurity differs from the original definition of cybersecurity by humans using technology to hack other humans. Traditional cybersecurity mainly involves humans using technology to hack other technologies. Social cybersecurity is especially crucial in today’s world because it explains motives of cyber criminals and gives a background to why someone would commit such cyber threats. This article talks about the military and how technological threats are becoming more of a problem then physical threats in certain ways. It gives examples such as explaining the blockade on Russia and/or the Soviet Union. Overall, social cybersecurity has grown to be more of a greater factor in the past military, along with today’s military.
