Reflection 6
During the last two weeks of my internship for Tower Federal Credit Union’s information security department I continued to work and aid the SOC desk. During the last week I also got the privilege of going to TFCU’s data center and assisting my coworker Andrew in decommissioning an unused server. While in the data center I met Kevin (VP of IT), and he educated me on proper data center management and organization.
Moreover, TFCU has considered utilizing Application Programming Interface (API). My boss, Phil asked me to initialize a draft of an API security standard. I took the task even though I knew very little about API. I educated myself on the topic of APIs with the assistance of Phil. Within a week I submitted my initial draft to Phil, where he was very impressed.
In summary, I am privileged to have had the opportunity to work at TFCU. It was a great experience full of learning and opportunities. Not only did I enjoy my experience, but I also gained a considerable amount of respect for my future profession.
