Nicholas Duggins

The components of a business are accounting and finance that handle the company’s payroll and finances of that company. Businesses also have sales, marketing, and service which provide for the customer whether it be selling a product or service along with getting the companies name out there with service handling customers after the sale or service. Companies will have an HR and an IT department which handle the internal aspects of the company, like computer networks running IT and HR handling hiring and termination practices for them. These are just a few of the ever-growing components to a business; the rest would be leadership, operations, product development, legal and now cybersecurity.

Identifying components to a business.

  5. How should IT itself be organized?

Q1: I think another component would be risk management team and a PR team to protect a company’s image.

Q2: I think they could fit with HR and Marketing as a sister component that handles specific needs like cybersecurity does for IT.

Q3: I think IT fits at the center of the company. It holds all th data and software to run a company.

Q4: IT makes sure software and hardware stay up to date and that they run smoothly for the company.

Q5: IT itself should be organized into specialized teams that focus on different functions. For example, there may be teams for help desk support, network management, cybersecurity, software development, and database administration. This structure allows IT to operate efficiently while supporting the needs of the entire organization. A well-organized IT department helps the business remain productive, secure, and competitive.
