Review the articles linked with each individual motive in slide/page #3.  Rank the motives from 1 to 8 as the motives that you think make the most sense (being 1) to the least sense (being 8).  Explain why you rank each motive the way you rank it.

1. For Money: I ranked “For Money” first because most of the cybercrimes that are committed are financially driven. It also makes sense as it’s the most documented motive.

2. Political: I ranked “Political” second because political motives are often aligned with large-scale coordinated attacks to disrupt governments.

3. Multiple Reasons: I ranked “Multiple Reasons” third because there is different motives mixed behind just the main cause as it could be for money, revenge, or political advantage behind 1 singular attack.

4. Recognition: I ranked “Recognition” fourth because some hackers want to be recognized for their abilities by major companies for a certain attack they did.

5. Revenge: I ranked “Revenge” fifth because it isn’t like a widespread attack this is just meant to harm one personal individual/group.

6. Curiosity: I ranked “Curiosity” sixth because this is mostly for younger hackers as they are curious how far they can get for example the one 15 year old kid that hacked NASA just because he wanted to see if he could.

7. Entertainment: I ranked “Entertainment” seventh because this is when people hack just for fun or just to challenge themselves instead of doing it for personal gain.

8. Boredom: I ranked “Boredom” last because this is when someone really has nothing better to do with their time so they just cyberbully or something similar out of boredom.
