Week 6 – Journal Entry 6

  1. Spoof Site: www.bankofamerica-secure.com
    • Live Website: www.bankofamerica.com
    • Difference-Phishing site has one extra word “secure” which is not making the valid URL. Real Websites usually use simple and straight URLs.
  2. Phishing Site: www.goog1e.com
    • Actual Site: www.google.com
    • Difference: The rogue site used “1” instead of “l”. That’s a widespread trick, no legit websites going to have spelling errors like this.
  3. Fake website: www.amazon-shop.com
    • Actual Website: www.amazon.com
    • Difference: The phishing site has added “-shop” to the URL. Real Web sites never use unnecessary extensions to their domain name.
