According to the reading “Understanding the components of a business”, a business is made of
lots of different working parts that work together to improve a company’s efficiency. Some of
the important working parts are management, marketing, information technology, finance, and
human resources. All of these working parts of a business play an important role to the success
of the company.
Management is at the top of the organization; they are responsible for making sure the
business stays successful. They do this by setting goals, making decisions, and by directing all of
the other components. Marketing is important because it helps figure out what the customer
wants and tries to fulfill their wants and needs. Finance helps manage and organize the
budgeting, and outing, and financial planning. Human resources is important because it helps
support employees and makes sure they are getting treated fair, they do this by focusing on
training, hiring, and compliance.
(IT) Information Technology is important because it is connected to all of the other
components. IT helps support all of the other components by managing different kinds of data
and technology. Managing this allows the company to operate as efficiently as possible. IT is
also especially important because technology is such a nig part of our everyday lives.
Some roles and responsibility that are related to IT are managing hardware and software,
managing networks, protecting data, supporting users, and making sure the technology systems
are running smoothly.
The reading talks about how IT should be organized based on what your business needs. For
example, smaller businesses will need a smaller team that is more closely knit. While larger
companies will need a large team that is divided into many different areas to be able to work
efficiently. IT needs can strongly change based on what needs each company has.
