Professional Mission Statement

In a world full of uncertainties and hazards at every step, information on risks and potential harmful effects should be known. Therefore, I wish to use my knowledge and tenacity to further understand these elements and educate others on my findings, so that lives other than my own can be saved and the promotion of human health is maintained.

Areas of Focus

  1. Radiation Health
  2. Occupational Health
  3. Toxicology

Working within the clinical setting has shown me just how little the general public knows about hazardous materials — especially radioactivity. Since the public is constantly around sources of radioactivity and are exposed everyday, information on this subject matter should be readily available. However, easily understood information is hard to come by and many individuals never truly understand radiation and its potentially harmful effects. Therefore, through my Applied Practice Experience and Integrative Learning Experience with the MPH program at ODU, I am able to formulate, create, and publish information on radiation health, radiation safety, and health physics to differing audiences — from medical school students to patients within the clinical setting. This information will be paramount in ensuring individuals at all levels are able to have proper access to radiological information.
