You will need either PC or MAC to successfully connect your Arduino to the software environment. Arduino needs communication through the communication port and that is not available on the Google Chromebook by default.

Chromebook users: review this tutorial and please complete the steps there https://www.sparkfun.com/news/1803 If you are using the school owned Chromebook it might not work for you because of the admin rights but you might give it a try.
