Why should you study a world language?

  • I think studying a world language is something that everybody should do for a few years. To start with, It just helps you develop your own language further and understand how to communicate with other people even if you don’t share a language. Beyond this though, learning a language, especially one of the bigger more prominent languages can be super helpful if you are ever traveling around the world, or meeting lots of new people for work etc. Honestly, people I know that speak multiple languages, or at least studied them are generally more intelligent and I stand by that.

Why am I studying French?

  • I chose French over Spanish in middle school because at that time, I had been to France a few times and its the language my mom studied when she was in school. I have family in Europe, so learning French seemed more useful to me personally. But to completely honest, I haven’t enjoyed it as much as I wanted to. I like learning a language, but France really isn’t super interesting to me and I would love to learn a different language in future.
