Workplace deviance can be described as an act of deliberate desire to cause harm to an organization or company by its own employer. How has cyber technology created opportunities for worker to violate company code and rules? There are many examples of how employers use organization resources the wrong way. Right now, I am using my company internet to do research for my school work on the clock. I am using my company computer and the internet not for my job but for my own purpose. Another way we know that cyber technology has created opportunities for bad behavior has to do with espionage. Certain workers use their company database to research other workers that they need information about. Workers from financial institute will check on other individual about their credit score or the amount of asset they possess. With the growing of cyber technology, it has become easier for individual to have access to information about the organization or company they work for. Nowadays, venders ask for too much information about buyers, they want to know about your credit card, your address, your social security, your license number, your phone number and email. It is critical that we have all those data save so any worker cannot have access to them. When a crime happens inside any organization, it would cost them money and the public will take time to trust this company back again. Cyber technology has opened many doors for bad worker to commit crime against company they work for. It has made it easy to access data and hard to retrace who is behind the steal. Technology is a great tool that we as society can use for many occasions. However, some of us choose to use it the wrong way by deliberately cause harm and create trouble.
