From the beginning of the semester, I’ve grown to less procrastination. I didn’t receive much homework so I used to have the mindset of doing work the day before and I know for a fact that it wasn’t a good mindset. My expectations for this semester were to pass a majority of my classes and to experience college life. Yes, this semester’s experiences met my expectations because I passed a few of my classes but not all. I didn’t want to have my hopes up of passing all my courses then getting disappointed. I knew that Chemistry was difficult so having a bad grade in that class isn’t a surprise. Something that I wish I knew 14 weeks ago was that I can’t withdraw from a course especially if it’s going to lower my credit hours and financial aid will take away my grants.
I didn’t study much at the beginning of the semester because I wasn’t assigned a lot of homework, however, I study for at least two hours for my classes excluding Health professions and Oral Communication and Literary. The reason for this is because these two classes don’t require much like studying for hours but I revise if I need to. My study habits have improved because as the days went by, I received more work and I needed to study for exams and quizzes. I haven’t used or learned about any new resources this semester that will help me next semester. A study habit I will use going into next semester is using Quizlet for flashcards when studying for exams.
Some ways that courses are tied together is that Sociology is about understanding human behavior, relationships, and interactions while Chemistry is about understanding the behavior of atoms and molecules. Health Professions prepare students for their health majors. In summary, all of these courses are about understanding and learning about something new that relates to our majors in the health sciences. The event that was most beneficial for me as a student is the final health professions event which was the paint night. This was the most beneficial because I got the opportunity to draw, which is something that I haven’t done in a long time, and I was able to think about things that make me think about happiness; the ocean and sunset.
