Budget Limits- Training and Technology


BLUF: To maximize overall security within the company’s limited budget. This document will discuss the funds allocation towards the human training and the technology. The balance that this paper wishes to accomplish will create technological and human barriers towards outside threats. That may threaten this company.


Technology and Advancement


Having the current technology is important to any company. Newer technologies are less likely to have vulnerabilities, and if they do, they would be patched faster than older software. Outdated systems lead to more vulnerabilities and a higher chance of cyber attacks. I propose putting at least 40% of our budget into newer technology. Concepts like Zero Trust and some forms of hashing are important.


Training and The Human Problem


Training is an important part of cybersecurity. The most efficient firewall is the human firewall. By training your employees to recognize scams and attacks such as phishing, vishing, etc. Humans are our first line of defense and must be trained to be that. That is why I suggest the notion of putting 60% of our funds towards human security and advancement.


Integrating the Human Factor and Technology


Providing most of the funds for training and retaining employees helps the company maintain lower recruitment and training costs. Training your own talent gives you more opportunities rather than fighting for outside talent that may not join your company. As we grow our own talent, they will have a deep understanding of our institution and our specific network. This budget incentivizes employees to stay and evolve along with the company’s technology.


Conclusion


This budget will boast a strong plan for this organization’s cybersecurity sector. The 40% plan for our technology and infrastructure will keep our systems up to date and reduce vulnerabilities. This is necessary for data protection. The 60% towards human capital gives our company a chance to train amazing talent and retain them. Giving most of the budget to our employees will create a resilient workforce.
